Privacy policy

Vela provides the website at velastudio.space. This policy describes cloud accounts, the information needed to deliver the website and optional Google services. Contact contact@velastudio.space with privacy questions.

Information stored on your device

The planner stores layouts, measurements, colours, project notes, optional costs and supplier references in browser local storage. Imported floor plans may be included in the saved project as an image. Guest projects and unsynced drafts remain on this device. Firebase Authentication uses browser storage to keep you signed in. Vela does not store your password in project records or its own browser-storage keys.

Uploaded plans and exported files

Floor plan images and PDFs are read in your browser to create a tracing reference. Tracing images are not uploaded to Firebase or included in cloud project records. Signed-in saves send the editable plan, including geometry, furniture, finishes, project details, costs and notes, to Firebase Firestore. JSON, image and presentation exports are downloaded to your device. Anyone you share an export with can read the information it contains.

Hosting and service requests

The website is hosted on Vercel. Delivering the site involves processing network information such as your IP address, requested URL and browser information; the hosting provider may maintain operational and security logs. See Vercel’s privacy policy. Local storage supports project drafts and sign-in functionality.

Optional analytics and advertising

Vela prepares Google Analytics and Google AdSense for public pages. When a service is enabled, its tag is loaded only after you accept the relevant optional category. Analytics page-view events use the public page path without query strings; the configured events do not include names, email addresses or project contents. Account and design-workspace pages do not load these services.

If advertising is enabled and accepted, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show and measure ads, including personalised advertising where permitted and based on applicable choices. Google processes information according to its own terms, privacy messages and account settings. See Google’s explanation for partner sites and Google’s privacy policy. Accounts and cloud plans

Firebase Authentication processes your email, profile name and authentication credentials for email/password or Google sign-in. Firebase Firestore stores plans under your account ID. Access rules restrict plans to their signed-in owner. Cloud Storage is not used. Google processes service data under its privacy policy. Browser drafts are also kept to help recover unsynced edits.

Retention and your choices

Local data remains until it is removed through available project controls, cleared in your browser’s site-storage settings, or removed by the browser. Signing out ends your account session but does not erase local drafts or cloud plans. Remove cloud plans using the Projects page. Contact support to request deletion of your account and associated service data. To remove all local Vela data, clear site data for velastudio.space in your browser settings. Export anything you want to keep first. Downloaded backups must be removed separately. Hosting-log retention is controlled by the hosting provider and applicable service settings. Optional Google data retention depends on the service and account settings.

Contacting support

If you email Vela, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond to your request. Do not send passwords or unnecessary personal details. Remove private details from plans or exports before sharing them. You can ask about correction or deletion of support correspondence by emailing the same address.

Security, rights and questions

Avoid storing sensitive plans or personal information on shared devices. Depending on where you live and the processing involved, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of personal information and to contact your local data-protection authority.
