Cookies & privacy choices

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Vela uses browser storage for project functionality and prepares optional Google services for public pages. Optional tags are loaded only after you choose the relevant category and the service has been enabled.

Necessary storage

Guest plans and unsynced drafts use local storage; Firebase Authentication uses browser storage for your account session. Signed-in plans are saved in Firestore. Tracing images remain local. These support the planner and are separate from advertising. Privacy choices use the local-storage key “vela-cookie-preferences-v1” and are requested again after 180 days. The website can be used with optional categories turned off.

Optional visit analytics

If enabled and accepted, Google Analytics measures visits to public information pages. The configured page-view events use the page path without query strings. Names, email addresses, uploaded plans and project contents are not sent in those events. Google may process device, browser and network information. Analytics is disabled on account and studio routes.

Optional advertising

If enabled and accepted, Google AdSense can show advertisements on public pages. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to select and measure advertisements, including personalised ads where permitted and based on the applicable consent choices. AdSense is not loaded in the account forms or design workspace. Ad availability also depends on Google’s site approval and account settings.

Google may display additional privacy messages and partner choices. Review those messages where available. Our browser preference controls do not replace any consent process required by Google or local law.

Change or withdraw a choice

When an optional service is enabled, use “Privacy choices” at the bottom of a public page. Choose “Necessary only” or customise the categories. Changing an active choice reloads the page to stop previously loaded tags, and removes accessible first-party Google measurement and advertising cookies. Cookies held on other domains remain controlled by those services and your browser.

If optional services are disabled, no preference panel is needed. You can remove local data using your browser’s site-storage controls for velastudio.space; export project JSON first because this can also erase your designs. Downloaded files must be removed separately.
